Hyderabad, June 26: The Telangana Government has issued G.O.Rt. No. 914, announcing a significant reshuffle of senior IAS officers and key administrative postings. The transfers, approved in the interest of administrative efficiency, affect several important departments including the Chief Minister’s Office, Revenue, Industries & Commerce, Disaster Management, Tourism, Handlooms, Municipal Administration and Invest Telangana.

Major Highlights

  • Sabyasachi Ghosh (IAS 1994) has been entrusted with additional charge (FAC) of Special Chief Secretary, Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts. He will also oversee TG Handicrafts Development Corporation and TGCO while continuing to supervise the Tribal Welfare Department.
  • Shailaja Ramaiyer (IAS 1997) moves from the Revenue Department to become Principal Secretary, Environment, Forests, Science & Technology (EFS&T). She has also been given additional charge as Director General, EPTRI.
  • Ahmad Nadeem (IAS 1997) has been appointed Principal Secretary (Political), General Administration Department (GAD) and will additionally handle the Minorities Welfare Department.
  • N. Sridhar (IAS 1997) has been posted as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, one of the most significant appointments in the reshuffle.
  • Rahul Bojja (IAS 2000) returns from leave to take charge as Principal Secretary, Disaster Management (Revenue Department) while continuing to oversee the Backward Classes Welfare Department.
  • M. Raghunandan Rao (IAS 2002) has been assigned additional responsibility for the Mines & Geology and Industries & Commerce departments.
  • Ajith Reddy (IDES 2012) has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, Invest Telangana, strengthening the state’s investment promotion mechanism.
  • Md. Musharraf Ali Faruqui (IAS 2014) has been given additional charge as Vice Chairman & Managing Director, TGREDCO.
  • P. Katyayani Devi (IAS 2017) becomes Special Secretary, Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts, besides holding additional charge as Joint Managing Director, State Finance Corporation.
  • K. Gangadhar (IAS 2021) has been transferred from TGRERA to serve as Special Secretary, Roads & Buildings Department.
  • T. Venkanna has been posted as Municipal Commissioner, Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC).
  • K. Vidyasagar has been appointed Director of Tourism and will also serve as State Nodal Officer for Prajavani.
  • K. Chandrakala has been given additional charge as Joint Metropolitan Commissioner (Core Urban Region, Land Pooling & Metro Rail), HMDA.

Administrative Significance

The reshuffle places experienced officers in strategic positions connected with the Chief Minister’s Office, investment promotion, infrastructure, disaster management, industries, tourism and municipal governance. The appointments are expected to strengthen coordination across departments and accelerate the implementation of key government programmes.
