Start-ups in India are wealth creators, and government stands with them with all its might – PM Narendra Modi in his Independence Day speech

Talking about the big role that start-ups play in India’s economy; Prime Minister in the 75th Independence Day speech said many new start-ups in all sectors of the country are being formed even in the tier 2 and tier 3 cities. He said that start-ups play a big role in making Indian products available in the inter-state markets. PM assured that “the government stands with all its might, with these start-ups. Whether it is giving them financial help, cash discounts, rules simplification for them, the government is fully with them.”

He highlighted that thousands of new start-ups have emerged even in the difficult period of Covid-19 and moving forward successfully. He said, “Yesteryear’s start-ups are becoming today’s unicorns. Their market value is reaching thousands of crores of rupees.” He termed them as “new types of wealth creators in our country”. He expressed pleasure that they are standing on their feet due to the power of their unique ideas and forging ahead. Talking about the plans of this decade, in the context of start-ups, Prime Minister said that “we need to relentlessly work towards making India’s start-ups and the start-up Ecosystem the best in the whole world.”
