Madhya Pradesh has reportedly declined clearance for central deputation for four 2012-batch IAS officers: Harshika Singh, Rohit Singh, Abhijeet Agrawal and Anurag Chaudhary.
A specialist bureaucracy report published on November 2 attributed the decision to a shortage of officers in the state, citing 68 vacancies against a sanctioned IAS cadre strength of 459.
Central deputation decisions can reveal the competing staffing demands of state governments and the Union administration. Retaining experienced officers may protect continuity in state departments, but it can also affect career plans and central staffing requirements.

The state government’s original communication was not independently obtained. The decision and stated vacancy figures should therefore be attributed to the published report rather than presented as independently confirmed official findings.
