Following safety measures during these times for healthier and serene study time is important:

Follow the 20-20-20 rule:

  • Take frequent breaks during study time.
  •  Follow the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes – look 20 feet away/out of the window – for 20 seconds to shift the focus from near to far distance so that the eye muscles are sufficiently relaxed.

Frequent Blinking: Do not forget to blink frequently, as often there is a tendency to fail to blink during the prolonged study hours. It prevents dryness, itching, and eye fatigue.

Maintain a correct posture: Maintaining a correct posture and reading distance prevents neck and back problems. Sit straight as that will help.

Limit the use of digital gadgets: Longer screen time leads to eye fatigue, discomfort leading to itching and also irritation.

Sit in a well illuminated and ventilated room: Illumination of the room is a crucial element as it helps to see properly. A well-ventilated room causes less discomfort and it is easy for the body and mind to concentrate.

Minimum one hour of physical activity: Students should be encouraged to indulge in at least an hour of physical activity or leisure time every day for their overall well-being and relaxation.

Follow a healthy sleeping pattern: Six to eight hours of sleep is important for a healthy mind. Try and keep a disciplined schedule which will help to complete the studies and also maintain good health.

Stay Hydrated: Drink water at intervals and ensure that even if you are not feeling thirsty, sip water as that will keep the body hydrated.

A healthy pattern of studying during these exams will help the body and mind to concentrate and make the best.
