Education Policies to Drive Viksit Bharat and Emerge Vishwa Guru @2047

Hyderabad:

It was a convergence of education leaders from across the country and beyond deliberating and setting the road map right for higher education @2047 in the three-day 98th Annual Meet of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Hosted in the picturesque destination – Leonia Resort on the outskirts of historic Hyderabad city, this significant conference with a galaxy of top educationists was organized by AIU and hosted by ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE) from 15-17 April 2024.

The congregation saw the Vice Chancellors participating passionately in the well-designed panel discussions and talks with themes envisioning India as Viksit Bharat and Vishwa Guru (knowledge-giver of the world).

Integrating the Bharatiya Knowledge System (BKS) with higher education was one of the key themes for the session besides research, skill, innovation, technology, globalization, internationalization, sports among others.

C P Radha Krishnan, Governor of Telangana, Jharkhand, and Puducherry, who inaugurated the conference called on the students to equip themselves to compete with the best talents of the world and emerge victorious.

In his unique style, the Governor appealed to the educational institutions to ‘Score Zero in Drugs and Corruption’.

Earlier he congratulated AIU and the IFHE for conducting this conference and said that AIU is creating knowledge power to the higher education field. He also lauded the long-lasting commitment of AIU to making our higher education system even more vibrant and inclusive. The introduction of Bharat Knowledge System (BKS) is one such step towards achieving that target, he added. He appealed to all the universities to create and groom enthusiastic and talented youngsters to realize the dream of Viksit Bharat envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Radha Krishnan also hoped that our nation would emerge as the world leader in the economy by 2047.

Prof. G D Sharma, President AIU, Prof (Dr.) Pankaj Mittal, Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak, Vice President AIU, and Prof. TG Sitaram, Chairman AICTE spoke on the occasion and gave a brief about the topics and the conduct of the conference. Prof. L S Ganesh, Vice Chancellor, ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education welcomed all the dignitaries to the conference on behalf of ICFAI. A book on Sustainable Goals written by 78 authors was launched on this occasion.

The meeting also saw the participation of the Vice Chancellor including neighboring countries like Nepal.
