New Delhi: The Centre has directed administrations under the AGMUT cadre to report criminal cases, arrests, adverse court orders and investigative action involving IAS, IPS, DANICS and DANIPS officers within 48 hours.
The direction follows a review by the Ministry of Home Affairs and is aimed at ensuring that developments involving officers are communicated to the Centre without delay. The reporting requirement covers action by investigative agencies as well as other significant legal developments concerning serving officers.

The Ministry has also sought details of pending disciplinary matters involving AGMUT cadre officers. Administrations have been asked to provide relevant records and supporting documents for such cases by October 15.
The AGMUT cadre covers Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories. The latest direction has significance for both the civil and police services because it establishes a tighter timeline for communicating sensitive administrative and legal developments to the Centre.
