Bengaluru : Aster DM Healthcare is doubling down on its presence in Bengaluru with a major expansion initiative: a ₹580 crore investment to establish a 500-bed multi-specialty hospital in Yeshwanthpur. The project significantly strengthens Aster’s footprint in one of India’s fastest-growing healthcare markets, bringing its total capacity in the city to 2,580 beds and positioning it among the top three private healthcare providers in the metro.
To be developed on a Built-to-Suit (BTS) model, the Yeshwanthpur hospital will span approximately 5 lakh square feet and is expected to be operational in the second half of FY 2028–2029. The facility will be entirely operated and managed by Aster DM Healthcare, following its asset-light strategy—a model also used in its upcoming hospital on Sarjapur Road.
The company has signed a 30-year Agreement to Lease (ATL) with Kemwell Pvt. Ltd., part of the Kemfin Family Office, for the long-term development of the hospital, with renewal provisions ensuring sustained presence in this vital healthcare corridor.

Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder and Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, highlighted the project’s strategic relevance: “The Yeshwanthpur hospital marks a significant milestone in Aster’s India growth strategy. With this addition, we are expanding our Bengaluru capacity to 2,580 beds—making it one of the largest private hospital networks in a single Indian metro. Our asset-light, Built-to-Suit approach allows us to scale efficiently while delivering high-quality healthcare in high-demand zones.”
Yeshwanthpur’s location is key to Aster’s choice, offering strong connectivity via Tumkur Road, Outer Ring Road, Bellary Road, and Chord Road. The region also benefits from proximity to Yeshwanthpur Junction and the Green Line of the Namma Metro. Surrounded by industrial clusters, tech parks, and residential hubs, the hospital will serve a catchment of nearly 3 to 4 million people—many of whom are seeking advanced tertiary care services.
This move underscores Aster’s larger strategy to deepen its roots in South India by expanding in existing markets and entering new ones. With a focus on operational efficiency and accessibility, the group’s infrastructure-led expansion is aligned with rising urban healthcare needs.
As demand for quality healthcare surges in metro cities, Aster’s timely investment reaffirms its vision of building an integrated healthcare ecosystem across urban India, with Bengaluru at the forefront.
