Anand Mahindra pledges Rs. 550 Cr to Mahindra University

Hyderabad: The Mahindra Group family announces a whopping combined Rs. 550 crore funding in its education, skill, and research initiatives around India in the next five years (starting from FY 25 till FY 29).

This funding for holistic education initiatives will be utilized majorly through Mahindra University.

As Mahindra University continues to expand itself in multiple new disciplines, the financial support will help propel its mission to strive for interdisciplinary academic excellence and multi-skilled leaders committed to inclusive and sustainable progress, stated an official communication.

The Indian billionaire businessman and Chairman of Mahindra Group has made a dedicated pledge of Rs. 50 Crore endowing the Indira Mahindra School of Education in FY 2025. This school at the Mahindra University has been named in memory of its Chancellor Mr Anand’s mother Indira Mahindra. This particular school aspires to become the center of excellence in educational research, practice, and innovations.

This combined financial pledge is the latest of many educational initiatives supported by Mr Anand that include Mahindra International School, and Mahindra United World College India. In 1996, he started the Nanhi Kali program, which has provided over 7,00,000 underprivileged girls with access to high-quality education over the past two decades, according to the official release.
