A one-day conference held on Leadership and Management in Healthcare

With an aim to better equip Hospital and Healthcare Administration and Management students about job roles, leadership qualities, challenges etc, AHHA (Association of Health and Hospital Administrators) conducted a one-day conference today. Titled “AHHA CME (Continuing Medical Education)-2023”, this summit was hosted in Hyderabad in Yashoda Hospitals, Hitech city. OSD to Telangana CM (on Health) Dr T Gangadhar, NIMS Superintendent Dr Nimma Satyanarayana, Osmania General Hospital Superintendent Dr Nagender, Senior Administrators and Managers of various hospitals, Residents and PG students pursuing Healthcare Management and Administration from NIMS and other institutions attended the programme.
Sharing details, Dr A Lingaiah, Medical Director at Yashoda Hospitals stated that this knowledge sharing conference will benefit the Managers and Hospitals Administrators of Tomorrow.
Senior government officials, hospital administrators from govt and corporate hospitals shared about the practical experiences, challenges at work, need for teamwork and proper coordination to ensure results, he said.
Dr Martha Ramesh, President, AHHA for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, stated that AHHA is at the forefront of holding such conferences to bring students, senior administrators and other stakeholders to one platform for rich sharing of experiences and gaining of knowledge that would stand present students and tomorrow’s managers and administrators in good stead. Dr Ramesh informed that a national level conference involving top Administrators and Consultants and Students from various States is on the cards in the near future.
Dr Ramesh informed that students stand to gain and appreciate the importance of key topics and find solutions to the problem, get familiarity with the new concepts in administration, understand different components of administration which are now becoming challenges
The panel discussions and presentations centred on themes like ECMO in India-Challenges and its Management, Harmonizing Healthcare: Navigating the Doctor-Manager Partnership in Indian Hospitals, Patient experience is Culturally a Top Down Affair, Maximizing Impact through Collaborative Leadership in Healthcare Organisations, Maintaining Clinical Excellence. A separate session was held for selected posters and paper presentations.
