In turn, Navin Mittal, a 1996-batch officer, has been posted as Special Chief Secretary for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Rural Water Supply and Rural Sanitation, succeeding M. Dana Kishore.
The posting gives Mittal responsibility for departments closely connected with village administration, rural infrastructure, drinking water and sanitation services. It also marks a shift from his earlier Energy portfolio.
