Two Senior AGMUT Cadre IAS Officers

Two senior AGMUT cadre IAS officers serving in Jammu and Kashmir have reportedly been transferred to Delhi under a Ministry of Home Affairs decision dated October 27.

Specialist administrative news reporting identifies the officers as Ashwani Kumar, a 1992 batch IAS officer, and Dr Ashish Chandra Verma, a 1994 batch officer. The reports say Kumar was serving in the Power Development Department, while Verma held senior responsibilities connected with tourism and agriculture production.

The reported transfers would mean changes at senior levels of the Jammu and Kashmir administration. Such movements are particularly significant in the AGMUT cadre, where officers may serve across multiple Union Territories and other cadre locations.

Although the reports attribute the move to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the underlying transfer order was not independently retrieved for this article. The effective date and arrangements for handing over charge should be checked against the original notification.

The administration’s subsequent allocation of responsibilities will determine how the departments concerned manage the transition.
