Authorities in Telangana are preparing for a spell of potentially intense rainfall, with weather warnings drawing attention to the state’s eastern districts.
Recent reports citing the India Meteorological Department indicate a red alert for Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam for October 28. Orange alerts have also been reported for several other districts, including Warangal and Hanumakonda.
The warning comes as a cyclonic weather system approaches the Andhra Pradesh coast, raising concerns about heavy rain, local flooding and travel disruption in neighbouring Telangana.

For district administrations, the forecast places renewed importance on monitoring water levels, identifying vulnerable settlements and keeping emergency response arrangements ready. Residents in affected areas should follow the latest official forecasts and instructions issued by local authorities.
The alert concerns weather preparedness. It does not, by itself, indicate any new IAS or IPS transfer or appointment.
