Hyderabad: The Telangana government has appointed G Ravi, IAS, a 2015 batch officer, as Secretary of the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society, TGSWREIS, giving him a key responsibility in the state’s social welfare education system.
The appointment was made through G.O. Rt. No. 1409 dated September 26, 2026, issued by the General Administration Department. The order was issued by Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju in the name of the Governor.
Ravi was serving as Member Secretary of the Telangana Pollution Control Board, TGPCB. Following the latest order, he has been transferred and posted as Secretary of TGSWREIS. He will, however, continue to hold full additional charge as Member Secretary of TGPCB until further orders.
The government has also relieved B Viziendira, IAS, 2006 batch, from the full additional charge of the TGSWREIS Secretary post.
A key responsibility in Telangana’s education ecosystem
The new assignment places Ravi at the helm of an important institution in Telangana’s social welfare education framework. TGSWREIS oversees residential educational institutions focused on expanding educational opportunities and residential support for students from disadvantaged communities across the state.
The latest posting gives Ravi responsibility across two significant areas of public administration, social welfare education and environmental governance.
