On the occasion of World Patient Safety Day – 17th September, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has launched schemes, guidelines, and initiatives to increase quality and efficiency of health services. The health minister has also applauded states and UTs for successful implementation of Labour Room Quality Improvement Initiative (LaQshya) and National Quality Assurance standards in public health institutions. He said their initiatives are very important to build trust of people in the public healthcare system.
World Patient Safety Day is observed with the aim to raise awareness about patient’s health and reduce errors in their treatment. ‘Safe maternal and new-born care’ is the theme of this year’s World Patient Safety Day. in order to promote safe maternal and respectful childbirth. A series of virtual and other activities have been planned by WHO on this occasion.
