Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI) joins hands with the commerce ministry’s Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) to launch a certificate program in agri-import and export management that would be offered to learners in online mode. It is going to be a six-month online course offering practical insights for exporters on significant aspects of agri trade. The course would cover a wide area of topics like product and market identification, procedural formalities for exports and imports, exim finance, regulatory clearances, logistics, and settlement of safe and secure payment from international buyers.
The program has been designed to enhance the skill sets of existing and prospective agricultural traders so that they gain information, knowledge and skills to build their capacity, capability and competence. It would enable them to deal with international trade of agricultural products confidently.
The program is designed in such a way that it will benefit both current and budding agri entrepreneurs and managers in-line with several government initiatives like the Agri Export Policy. Despite the pandemic, the country’s agricultural exports have gone up by 17.34 per cent and reached USD 41.25 billion in 2020-21.This indicates good future prospects in agri trade of the country and people engaged in it.
