Teachers as transformers is a tribute to every teacher who has decided to shed the old skin and be reborn each day with added skills, efficiency and a sound value system. It is a salute to every teacher who seamlessly changes roles said, Dr Jyothi Reddy Ghanta, the conclave Host and Director of Education, The Shri Ram Hyderabad Schools.
The extraordinary contributions made by teachers in a child’s life were highlighted in the fourth edition of “Acharya Devo Bhava (ADB) Educators” Conclave conducted by The Shri Ram Universal School (TSUS) in Hyderabad.
The theme for this year was “Teachers as Transformers”, which not only aims to touch upon the role of an educator who transforms lives of students, but as someone who transforms themselves continually in the process. Eminent speakers which comprised education leaders, academicians, experts and consultants, top brass of edtech companies elicited their views on the ever-evolving role of an educator.
This year we welcomed teachers from schools across the globe to share their transformational journeys through an activity – BE the Ripple effect. This conclave is an opportunity for educators to take pride in their profession and take pride in themselves. Dr Jyothi Reddy stated.
Asna Nafees, Principal, DPS Modern Indian School, Qatar spoke on educators responsibility to be future ready to face the VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity) World.
“Tranformation in Education if we can see from the age-old Gurukul system to present is huge. Teachers at present are no more the centers of knowledge and he or she is not the only one owning knowledge. Every child can get that. How to use the transformation wisely to create knowledge and apply is what has become the role of teacher,” Ms Nafees opined.
Ms Seetha Murthy, Director Education, Silver Oaks caught the attention of the audience with an interesting presentation on the topic “The case of mistaken identity. What critical information are we missing?”
Nuclear Scientist Dr A.P.Jayaraman, DY Patil University VC Prof Prabhat Ranjan, Krea University Professor Anil Srinivasan, Jain Group of Institutions CEO Dr Chandrashekar were among the eminent personalities who took part in panel discussions centred around the theme.
