Ordering on Swiggy is going to be fun and effortless, as the food delivery platform is set to introduce new artificial intelligence (AI) features on its app. The neural search feature with voice typing and tailored recommendations for food and grocery delivery is going to change the user experience. Built using a Large Language Model (LLM) that is adapted to understand dish, recipe, and restaurant terminology, as well as Swiggy-specific search data will make the process of ordering as well as delivery easy. The company plans to expand this AI feature to all its verticals in the future.
Swiggy AI feature will be rolled out from September onwards. In September, Swiggy’s AI feature will be rolled out in pilot mode to allow users neural search with voice in selected Indian languages, and provide filtered recommendations.
The generative AI is trained on 50 million items in its food catalogue for accurate and real-time responses to food-related queries, the blog stated.
Apart from just foods, Swiggy is also integrating the same in Instamart, wherein users can discover groceries and other household related things in a conversational manner.
Madhusudhan Rao, Chief Technology Officer at Swiggy, said that to enhance customer experience and satisfaction it is collaborating with a third-party to develop a GPT-4 powered chatbot.
Swiggy said the search feature has been built using a Large Language Model (LLM) adapted to understand dish, recipe, and restaurant terminology, as well as Swiggy-specific search data. The Prosus-backed food delivery firm intends to eventually expand the generative AI-backed feature to all its verticals—food delivery, Instamart, and dining out.
Swiggy, which has more than 2.5 lakh restaurant partners in over a hundred cities in India, introduced a tracking tool earlier in July, aiming to help restaurant partners use data to strategise their network expansion.
