A passionate environmentalist with an economics background, Smt. Hari Chandana Dasari seamlessly blends corporate insight with grassroots administration. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Economics, Political Science & Public Administration from St. Ann’s College, Hyderabad, followed by an MA in Political Science from the University of Hyderabad, and an MSc in Environmental Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE).

Early in her professional journey, she held high-profile roles in London-based MNCs—notably the World Bank and BP Shell. However, driven by a deep sense of purpose and the desire to contribute locally, she relinquished these lucrative positions to join the civil services.

Currently serving as Collector of Hyderabad District (appointed June 2025), her career has been defined by innovation, empathy, and environmental stewardship.

  • Plastic-to-Path Tiles & Upcycled Infrastructure: As Zonal Commissioner in GHMC, she spearheaded recycling millions of tonnes of plastic into paver tiles and repurposed old tyres and oil drums into public furniture across 120+ parks.
  • India’s First Pet Park: Founded a unique pet-friendly park, converting erstwhile dumps into green, functional public spaces.
  • ‘She Toilets’ & Mobile Sanitation Solutions: Launched gender-sensitive sanitation projects including mobile bus toilets and “She Toilets” across Narayanpet—ensuring dignity and convenience for women in public spaces.
