A step towards Delhi CMs efforts against pollution, all the 33 sub-divisional magistrates (SDMs) of the capital have been directed to initiate an “anti-cracker” campaign in the city ahead of Diwali. The SDMs will be interacting with RWAs, market associations and NGOs in their respective areas on October 28 and 29 to ensure their participation in the fight against pollution and spread awareness about the initiatives towards reducing it’s levels.
Delhi government had announced a ban on crackers. The announcement was made by Delhi CM much in advance so that sellers do not procure it at all. However there have still been complaints that sale and purchase of crackers is taking place. In the light of this all SDMs would be launching the anti-cracker campaign in the city. Along with police, they have been directed to take action against sale and purchase of crackers.
