With no respite from rains in Telangana, the State government has decided to extend holidays for all schools in the state until July 16 (Saturday). Vakati Karuna, Secretary to Government, Education Department has issued a memo to this effect in the afternoon. The senior IAS officer said that the decision to close schools for three more days was taken in view of incessant rains and bad weather conditions across the State. Karuna further said that schools will re-open from July 18 (Monday).
Meanwhile, Intermediate and higher educational institutions will also remain shut for another three days like schools. Sources in Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) informed that colleges will remain closed for day-to-day classes and activities till July 16.
