Rs 1600 crore approved for Implementation of Ayushman Bharat Digital mission

Union Cabinet approved Rs 1600 for implementation of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission for five years. ABDM will improve equitable access to quality healthcare using technologies such as telemedicine and enabling national portability of health services.
Citizens will be able to create their ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) numbers, to which their digital health records can be linked. The National Health Authority (NHA) will be the implementing agency of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).
Digital health solutions like  Cousin, Arogya Setu have helped during the Pandemic.
The digital scheme of vaccination has helped towards vaccination. It has also shown that data will help in identifying the health status of different groups of people.
E Sanjeevani has further demonstrated the role of  technology in enabling access to healthcare.
Integration of healthcare services is important for continuous care and effective utilisation of resources. Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) is creating a seamless online platform with a wide-range of data, information and infrastructure services.
The standard based digital systems will ensure security confidentiality and privacy of health-related personal information.
Creating health records for individuals across various healthcare providers, and improve clinical decision for healthcare providers. The mission will improve equitable access to quality healthcare by encouraging use of technologies such as telemedicine and enabling national portability of health services.
Pilot project of ABDM was completed in the six Union Territories of Ladakh, Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep with successful demonstration of technology platform developed.  During the pilot, digital sandbox was created in which more than 774 partner solutions are undergoing integration.  17,33,69,087 Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts have been created and 10,114 doctors and 17,319 health facilities have been registered in ABDM.
