Ravi Prasad appointed Director General of Road Transport & Highways

P.V.V.S.S. Ravi Prasad took charge as Director General (Road Development) & Special Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India in New Delhi today. He is the first Telugu officer to reach this highest position in this cadre.

Ravi Prasad is a Central Engineering Services (Roads) cadre Officer of 1988 batch. He hails from Gollalakoderu village near Bhimavaram in West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. He got married from Manthani in erstwhile Karimnagar district of Telangana.

The elevation of Raviprasad to this position is a matter of great pride to both the Telugu states.
Ravi Prasad passed his Masters in Civil Engineering from University of Roorkee (presently IIT Roorkee) and also received University Gold Medal in his course.

His early education was from Andhra Pradesh Residential School in Tadikonda. Ravi Prasad served as Chief Engineer cum Regional Officer for Telangana at Hyderabad for two years. Later he worked as Additional Director General in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways for the last 2 years and contributed immensely to the National Highways development in the States of AP, Telangana and Karnataka.
