Torrential rains for the last three days in Telangana had its toll on the state entrance exam-Eamcet. The Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) has announced postponing the exam for agriculture and related streams slated for July 14 and 15 (Thursday and Friday). However, Eamcet for admission into engineering under-graduate courses in various government and private engineering colleges in the state will be held as per schedule from July 18 to 20. The fresh date for the postponed exam will be announced at a later date, informed TSCHE Chairman Prof R Limbadri in a press note.

The state council reached out to the weather department before deciding to defer one leg of the entrance test. The life in north Telangana districts, some of which were pounded with heavy rains ( 200 to 300 mm rainfall in a day) is yet to come to normal terms. According to the weather forecast, the rain effect will continue further in various districts of Telangana for the next two days also. In this backdrop, TSCHE had no option but to postpone the entrance exams for agriculture streams.
