Passion, Purpose, and a Vision to Reach Every Home

Hemika Tanwar

Today, we’re delving into the world of human resources with Hemika Tanwar, Chief People Officer and Co-founder of Invest4Edu- a seasoned HR professional whose career path has been anything but conventional. From finance to security, and now as a key player at Invest4Edu, Hemika’s journey has been driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact. In this interview with IndiGlobal Media Network, Hemika shares the influences that shaped her career and how she’s bringing her entrepreneurial vision to Invest4Edu, a company focused on tackling the challenges parents face in funding their children’s education. Excerpts:

What challenges do you anticipate facing at your rapidly growing EdTech company, like Invest4Edu, and how would you leverage your expertise to build an HR infrastructure?

Given the experience that I have had with various industries, EdTech plays a larger role in this. Additionally, every organization sees redundancy in various areas due to AI and ML, so there is a lot of talent accessible, but the challenge lies in attracting the talent. It becomes extremely imperial when we consider Gen Z, who have a different perspective. Overall, the EdTech industry has had some setbacks, but we have also seen booms in industries like pharmaceuticals and other service-based businesses. We talk about services-based sectors, which have their own set of challenges and accreditation. This is where human resources enters the picture, where we can provide training to our people. Given the rapidly evolving AI, dynamic Machine Learning field, and evolving digital platforms, I believe that HR will be crucial to closing the skills gap in the EdTech sector—not just in identifying qualified candidates, but in developing that gap.

What strategies would you introduce for Invest4Edu to foster an environment that draws in, retains, and empowers talent? What is your overarching vision for Invest4Edu in the long run?

In today’s world, people are looking for the purpose of their lives. Often, one can hear people say that they are not just working for money; instead, they are looking for a balance between work and life. I see that most people are still passionate about their goals. The main goal of creating this project is to create passion and attachment among people; this represents the culture I believe in. It is vital for individuals to have a love for what they are doing; that is why we strive to meet all our challenges. I am sure the purpose-driven spirit in this company is what makes the biggest difference.

With your extensive background in talent management, how would you approach identifying and developing future leaders within Invest4Edu?

When people are driven by passion, that’s when they become leaders. Every organization has a different purpose, but they are always passionate. We help an individual to grow within their current role. We also help them with their skills and individual development, which could be anything that deals with improving communication or personality development. Invest4Edu is a brand that appeals to people and a platform that helps all parents evolve.

Can you elaborate your priorities this year?

As a co-founder, my priorities would be to sustain the business as well as increase its profitability so that it can reach as many homes as possible, both in larger cities and smaller towns. This is because the idea behind Invest4Edu is to serve the “masses and not the classes”; it is not about larger cities but rather about resolving issues that every parent faces. My first priority as head of HR is to see how well the organization is growing, which is also significant.
