Minister also launches INAI projects in IIIT Hyderabad

Industries and IT Minister K T Rama Rao had a busy day with slew of inauguration programmes today. He launched three initiatives-iRaste, Bodhyaan and Microlabs, under the INAI-Applied Artificial Intelligence Research Center project, in IIIT Hyderabad premises.
The Govt of Telangana in collaboration with Intel India, IIIT Hyderabad and PHFI (Public Health Foundation of India) had set up INAI – Applied Artificial Intelligence Research Center in Hyderabad this year. The center focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to solve India’s population scale challenges in key sectors such as healthcare and smart mobility. Through collaboration with industry, academia and government, this center aims to drive high impact applied research, create population scale datasets, advance AI, develop technology through IP generation and foster entrepreneurship.
While MicroLabs initiative is based on the pillars of Scale, Speed, Sensitivity, & Sample cost which brings out genomic surveillance for communicable diseases to Point of Care (POC) and is setup at IIIT Hyderabad, Bodhyaan is a Mobility Car Data Platform. It will have multiple sensors cameras, LIDARs, night-vision cameras, RADARs, including the required computational power to capture and process real- time data on the vehicle. Project iRASTE Telangana is a pivotal project that will move beyond traditional approaches to Road Safety by leveraging the power of Artificial Intelligence. For the first time, Al will act as a force multiplier and transform Road Safety Engineering.
Later the minister inaugurated Experian Services’s India Global Innovation Centre in Hyderabad. Yesterday KTR inaugurated the Alpla India’s World Class Mould Shop and Dual Education Centre in Pashamylaram on Hyderabad outskirts. The Centre has been set up in partnership with the Dept. of Technical Education, Govt. of Telangana and CII Telangana.
Alpla India has invested Rs 60 crores in the tool room and Rs 10 crores in Dual Education Center. With this, ALPLA’s investment in Pashamylaram, Telangana has gone up to Rs. 600 crore, making it one of the top 15 plants out of 177 plants worldwide.
This centre will offer hands-on education and training on the latest machines and state of art technologies in Mechatronics. Students in this programme are fully paid during the training period and offered jobs after completion. Diploma students in various polytechnic colleges can enroll after completing two years of their theoretical education in their colleges.
Alpla Global CEO Mr. Philipp Lehner, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to India Katharina Wieser were present on the occasion. Telangana Commissioner of Technical & Collegiate Education Navin Mittal, Telangana State Council of Higher Education Vice Chairman Prof. Venkata Ramana were also present.
