Telangana Grabs the Opportunity. Sends dedicated flight for Kitex Group MD.
Hyderabad: The Kitex group of companies entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoUs) with the Telangana Government on Saturday for two mega projects worth Rs. 2400 crore.
This comes few days after the Kitex Group Managing Director Sabu Jacob announced alleged harassment by the State Government agencies that conducted serial inspections at the company factory sites.
It is understood, soon after the withdrawal announcement by Kitex Group, the Telangana IT & Industries Minister, KT Rama Rao, was quick enough to connect, invite and even send a flight to bring the Kitex Group MD to Hyderabad.
Kitex is the 2nd largest private sector in the Kerala, and also the 2nd largest kids apparel manufacturer in the world.
Telangana IT & Industries Secretary, Jayesh Ranjan and Kitex Group MD Sabu Jacob signed the MoU at the MoU signing ceremony held in Hyderabad, in the presence of Telangana IT & Industries Minister, KT Rama Rao, State Panchayat Raj Minister Erraballi Dayakar Rao, Education Minister Sabitha Indira Reddy.
As per the MoU signed, Kitex Group will invest about Rs 2400 Crore in Telangana and will set up Integrated Fibre to Apparel Manufacturing Clusters at Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal and also at Sitarampur in Rangareddy District.
The investment will create direct employment for about 22000 people while over 18,000 people in the region will get indirect employment, with women being given top priority, stated the officials.
