Individual contributions important to achieve net zero goal: Dr. Tamilisai Sounderarajan

Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Sounderarajan has stressed the importance of individual contributions towards achieving net zero, including conserving water, air, refraining from polluting the environment, and adopting renewable energy sources and electric vehicles. She was speaking at the two-day E-20 Summit & International Conference soon after inauguration at the Engineering Staff of India, Hyderabad.

Dr. Tamilisai Sounderarajan, commended the Indian Institute of Engineers for taking the lead in organizing a conference centered around the pressing topic of achieving net zero emissions. She expressed optimism that the conference discussions would yield actionable solutions.

This conference is dedicated to spearheading efforts to reduce carbon emissions thereby achieving net zero target within the industrial sector. It encompasses a wide range of crucial elements including comprehensive strategies, the adoption of low- carbon energy, educational initiatives, public engagement, and fostering global cooperation. Esteemed industry experts from India and G20 nations will engage in enlightening dialogues through the course of the two-day summit.

The welcome address was delivered by Er.Shivanand Roy, who urged the Governor to advocate for the integration of E-20 Summit deliberations and outcomes into the G20 framework. Er. Surya Prakash provided an overview of the technical sessions for the benefit of the attendees. The program saw participation from international delegates representing G20 nations, members of the IEI council, delegates from various Indian organizations and companies, as well as the staff of ESCI. Dr. G. Rameshwar Rao, the Director of the Engineering Staff College of India proposed vote of thanks.
