New Delhi: India is set to welcome global delegates to New Delhi for the Second WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine 2025, to be held from December 17 to 19 at Bharat Mandapam. The summit is expected to draw policymakers, health experts, researchers, practitioners and global stakeholders for a high-level dialogue on the future of traditional medicine in global healthcare systems.

In a special message, Smt. Alarmelmangai D, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, extended a warm welcome to participants from around the world. She expressed India’s pride in hosting the summit and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to strengthening traditional medicine through international cooperation, scientific validation and innovation.

The summit will serve as a vital platform for knowledge exchange, sharing best practices and shaping a future-ready roadmap for traditional medicine. With its deep-rooted heritage in Ayurveda and other indigenous systems, India continues to play a leadership role in advancing traditional medicine for universal health and well-being.

Aligned with this vision, India is taking a forward-looking step by integrating artificial intelligence with traditional medicine systems under the AYUSH framework, including Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa and Homoeopathy, while preserving their core principles. AI-driven tools are being deployed to strengthen clinical documentation, improve diagnostics, enable personalised treatment approaches and enhance research validation through advanced data analysis.
