IIM Kozhikode (IIMK) topples IIM Calcutta; it is now third-best B School, after IIMs Ahmedabad and Bangalore.
Whenever one speaks about the B-School Rankings in India, it has always been IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta making it ABC. For the first time in two decades, there is a change in the ‘ABC now it is ABK with IIM Kozhikode pushing IIM Calcutta and forging ahead.
In the NIRF management rankings released on June 5, IIM Kozhikode jumped two ranks- from fifth in 2022 to third in 2023 resulting in the change from ABC to ABK.
Over the years, IIM K has been doing well in certain areas, for instance it is the best in ‘Outreach and inclusivity’. It is also doing well in Research and Professional practice and Peer Perception.
The focus on entrepreneurship and innovation has paid dividends.
There are six centres of excellence focussing on entrepreneurship and innovation, governance, digital transformation, social innovation, employment relations and labour studies, banking, finance and macroeconomics.
Expressing his delight over the Top 3 accomplishment, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIMK shared “It is a matter of great pride and prestige for IIM Kozhikode to attain Rank 3 in NIRF 2023 Rankings. The career best ranking is a testimony to the selfless contribution of our proficient faculty members, efficient administration, our magnificent students, alumni and recruiters and the ever supportive governments.
