Authored by Suhani Dewra, ‘An Alternative Way Of Living’ follows the theme of conscious living. To elaborate on the book, it is a collection of 25 interviews of people from across India, including two foreigners who have made India their home for the last few years.
The interviews focus on varied topics such as veganism, travel, climate, fashion, mind/body, etc. Some of the interviewees include Ramnath Goenka awardee journalist Mayank Shekhar, Karamveer Chakra awardee and founder of Rice Bucket Challenge Manju Latha Kalanidhi, IAS officer Jayesh Ranjan, Bollywood actress Tanishaa Mukerji, and popular lifestyle coach Luke Coutinho.
Speaking of the book, the author Suhani Dewra said, “The interviews vary from why one must be vegan to what it is like to live in a house made of brick sans paint, and the fact that there are destinations besides the West that offer wonders of the nature that one can travel to for leisure. Every interview is inspirational and some of the practices from each can be imbibed in readers’ everyday lives.” When probed on what inspired her to write the book, Suhani said, “I had had a change of lifestyle and that urged me to talk about it to the world. I used the book as the medium.”
