Guwahati airport’s operations, management and development responsibilities in hands of Adani Group now

The Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati has been handed over to the Adani Group for operations, management and development responsibilities. Government of India had decided to put Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mangalore, Jaipur Thiruvananthapuram and Guwahati airport  for privatisation for operations, management and development (OMD) for a period of 50 years in the year 2018. Adani Enterprise Limited has emerged as the successful bidder for all the six airports.

From today onwards, the operations, management and development responsibilities of Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport will be handled by the new airport operator — Adani Guwahati International Airport Limited (AGIAL). Amidst the traditional tune of ‘taal-khol’ and ‘Bihu’, and in presence of the Adani Group’s representatives, the handover ceremony has been witnessed by several staff and officers of the Guwahati airport with their families.
