From AIR 1 to 84 Selections: Mahesh Bhagwat’s Mentorship Creates Historic IFS Success Story

Hyderabad :The Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination 2025 results have turned the spotlight once again on Mahesh Bhagwat, whose mentorship initiative has delivered one of the most remarkable success stories in the civil services ecosystem.

According to figures shared by Bhagwat himself on X, candidates mentored under his guidance secured an extraordinary list of top All India Ranks- including AIRs 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 21, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 44, 46, 47, 50, 51, 54, 57, 59, 61, 62, 64, 65, 68 and several others. 

What makes this achievement even more significant is the scale of impact. Out of the 148 candidates selected nationwide in the IFS examination, as many as 84 aspirants reportedly received mentorship and interview guidance through Bhagwat’s initiative. 

The mentorship programme has also achieved a rare distinction, candidates guided under Bhagwat’s initiative secured AIR 1 in the IFS examination for three consecutive years: 2023, 2024, and now 2025. 

Among the successful candidates were aspirants from diverse social and economic backgrounds, including children of police personnel and rural families, reflecting the inclusive nature of the mentoring ecosystem. The initiative is widely appreciated for offering free interview guidance, personality development sessions, and motivational support to UPSC aspirants across India.

A senior Telangana cadre IPS officer, Mahesh Bhagwat is already nationally recognised for his work in anti-human trafficking, community policing, and public service reforms. Beyond policing, he has quietly built a reputation as one of India’s most respected civil services mentors, helping hundreds of aspirants prepare for IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, and CAPF interviews over the years.
