Facebook users will be able to make video and voice calls from the main app. The voice and video calling features on Facebook were moved to the Messenger app in the year 2014.To avail the features of voice and video calls on messenger, users had to exit the main app and move to the Messenger app.
Facebook has been extensively testing the video and voice calling features on its main app to introduce back the features as it was there originally. Avenues are being tested to reduce the need to switch to Messenger for interacting with Facebook friends.
Facebook would now be considering messenger as a service now rather than a standalone app. Not only this, Facebook has also been planning to combine messaging services between Messenger and WhatsApp. Earlier the same feature has been tried between Facebook and Instagram. Since people have been interacting like never before in private spaces, the social media conglomerate has been trying to keep pace with social media habits of users to provide them utmost convenience during their interactions.
