E-vehicles are a boon for India as 6 of the world’s 10 most polluted cities are in India. Also, New Delhi has the lowest air quality of any capital city in the world. Over 12 lakh people in India die due to air pollution every year. Transports are one of the biggest pollution creators of the country. As the charging infrastructure is improving with time, e-vehicles are the best means to improve air quality of the country.

Government of India has been encouraging the purchase of electric vehicles. It has been providing tax benefits on purchase of EVs. Purchasing electric two-wheelers means lower sales tax (GST) when compared to petrol/diesel vehicles.
