- Telangana medical fraternity extends greetings to doctors on this occasion

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed doctors’ role in saving lives and making the plant healthier while extending greetings to the fraternity on the occasion of ‘National Doctors Day” today.
Felicitations and recognitions to renowned doctors, meetings etc. are being held across the country marking the special day.
Hyderabad and Telangana are no exception. Medical fraternity from various state and corporate hospitals, medical colleges have joined in expressing gratitude for the doctors for the grit, tenacity and determination shown in serving people and for being in the forefront in the battle against Covid-19.
Doctors deserve special appreciation for risking their lives in people’s service. Verse “Vaidyo Narayano Hari” was further established during COVID pandemic. On the eve of National Doctors Day, people and government of Telangana salutes doctors for their dedicated service to mankind, Telangana Health Minister Harish Rao tweeted. Doctors holding senior positions in the government, managements of noted corporate hospitals in Hyderabad greeted the doctors on the occasion of Doctors Day.
Hailing the doctors for their selfless service during Covid-19, Director of Public Health, Telangana Dr G Srinivasa Rao said , “It’s truly a worthy tribute to Dr. BC Roy, that we are celebrating National Doctors’ Day on this day every year. An astute politician, an able administrator, a successful CM to a state like WB, above all-a humane Doctor, who practiced Medicine and served the people till the end. What more inspiration do we need, to emulate?!”

National Doctor’s Day is being celebrated on July 1 every year since 1991 in India marking the birth anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, a renowned doctor and former West Bengal CM. The significance of the day is to acknowledge and honour doctors’ efforts, contributions and sacrifices during their service to the people.
