Delhi schools to reopen from September 1 in phased manner

As decided in Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) meeting, schools in the capital is all set to open in phased manner from September 1. Classes of students of standard 9 -12 would begin from September 1, while classes for students of 6 to 8 will resume on September 8.

Class 10 -12 students had been allowed to school from August 16 onwards for practical work and exams. Since students’ studies have suffered a lot due to the pandemic despite online classes, the decision to reopen schools is being made. According to records of Delhi government more than 90 per cent of government as well as private school teachers in Delhi have received either one or both doses of Covid vaccine.

Decision to reopen schools from September 1 was taken by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority earlier this month after experts like AIIMS Director, Dr. Randeep Guleria backed up the idea of re-opening of schools so that studies of school students do not get further hampered.
