Orissa’s state capital is all set to offer a dedicated recreational facility for the differently-abled as the Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) has constructed ‘Sensory Park’. The park is one of its with facilities meant to ensure safety of differently-abled people falling into all the age categories.
The Park has been developed with an investment of Rs 93 lakh over an area of 16,117 square feet. It has insulated pathways, playing equipment for children, open-air gym, and other child-friendly facilities as per the universal access guidelines.
The rides and other equipment in the park are full of safety features. The ground is covered with soft synthetic lining to provide safe and beautiful ambience that would be encouraging people of all age groups to spend quality time there.
The Sensory Park has been designed by the Bhubaneswar Urban Knowledge Centre (BUKC). Work on it started in 2018 but completion got delayed. There are multiple rides like multiline swing, bucket swing, wheel-chair swing, two-seater swing, single seater spring rider, musical poles, sound play, drum track, musical panel, sound play table, shoulder builder, three-seater ground-level merry-go-round (MGR), two-seater spring see-saw, multi-seater MGR, wheelchair MGR, and slides etc.
