U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has announced its latest partnership to support climate-smart infrastructure with India. It is the U.S.-India Climate Technologies Action Group (CTAG) in collaboration with the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF). In order to promote energy resilience in India, USTDA has also announced a grant award to the USIN Foundation. It is in fact CTAG’s inaugural project.
USTDA and USISPF partnership is beneficial for India as it would be getting innovative technologies and cutting-edge solutions from United States that will have a powerful impact on India’s clean energy future. President of US, Biden encourages the idea of building back better, both at home and abroad, leading to the country’s recent global partnerships with India.
CTAG will help in mobilizing capital for climate-smart infrastructure projects in India. USTDA’s grant to the USIN Foundation will support an energy workshop series focusing on resilience and decarbonization. These workshops will bring together public and private sector clean energy leaders from India and the United States to identify technology options for the hydrogen value chain, renewables integration, carbon capture, and utilization and storage in India. Colorado-based IHS Global Inc. would be conducting the workshops.
This collaboration is an answer to the detrimental impacts of global warming. USISPF and USTDA are committed to advancing the world’s two largest democracies’ – US and India’s commitment to tackle climate change. This would also lead to opportunities of establishing businesses on both the sides to advance climate action, accelerate the deployment of clean technologies and climate-smart infrastructure in India, thereby improving lives of millions of people.
