A pact has been signed by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) to provide sustainable and reliable power supply to the security personnel providing services in high altitude, naxal-affected and remote regions of the country. BEL has signed MoU with SFC Energy-AG, Germany, and FC TecNrgy Pvt Ltd (FCTec). This MoU is signed with the purpose to address the growing requirement of sustainable energy to the security forces through fuel cells and hydrogen supply and is in-line with government’s initiatives for adopting green energy solutions.
So far sustainable and reliable power supply is a big problem waiting to be resolved so that security forces working in the remote, high-altitude, naxal-affected areas, and in deserts and island territories can work more efficiently. This new partnership addresses the off-grid power needs of the nation, like that of the security forces to do better disaster management and other routine activities in their postings in difficult terrains. The partnership is also aimed to help a range of additional applications with highly proven and customised green energy solutions based on fuel cells. The tie-up is a good mix of expertise as it involves BEL’s engineering and large-scale production strengths, SFC’s expertise in fuel cells and FCTec’s system integration and installation know-how.
