Badruka Group Marks Seven Decades of Educational Excellence with Renewed Vision

Srikishan Badruka

Hyderabad – The Badruka Educational Society, a cornerstone of Hyderabad’s academic heritage, celebrated a momentous milestone this week—marking 75 years since its founding—with a recommitment to its founding ideals and a forward-looking vision. Reflecting on the institution’s storied past and promising future, Srikishan Badruka, Hon. Secretary of the Society, underscored the legacy of selfless service and transformative education that continues to define the Badruka Group.

“What began in 1950 as a bold and almost audacious experiment in private education has today become a beacon of learning and values. This journey is not just ours—it belongs to every student, parent, teacher, and well-wisher who believed in the power of quality education,” said Shrii Badruka in his commemorative address.

Rooted in Vision, Built with Resolve

The origin of the Badruka Group traces back to a time of national awakening, when the country had just gained independence and Hyderabad was finding its place in the Indian Union. In 1950, Raja Bankatla Badruka, a visionary philanthropist, established the Badruka College of Commerce and Arts in memory of his grandfather Seth Ghansiram Badruka and father Seth Gopikishan Badruka.

“Our founder’s struggle to gain university affiliation—at a time when private institutions were not even considered—demonstrates the depth of his commitment. He wasn’t just starting a college; he was building a movement,” noted Shri Badruka.

Indeed, Raja Badruka’s efforts helped change policy: Osmania University granted affiliation to Badruka College, making it the first private institution to be affiliated in the then-undivided Andhra Pradesh. His tireless advocacy, often supported by personal financial contributions, laid the foundation for generations of learners.

Leadership that Expanded Horizons

The torch was carried forward by Sri Hariprashant Badruka, whose leadership for over five decades saw the growth of multiple institutions under the Badruka banner. These include:

  • Bankatla Badruka College of Information Technology
  • Badruka College Postgraduate Centre
  • Badruka Junior College for Girls

“My elder brother Sri Hariprashant Badruka’s integrity, foresight, and administrative prowess enabled us to expand while staying true to our values. He was deeply committed to the ideals of nation-building through education,” said Shrii Badruka.

Under his stewardship, the Badruka Group became a trusted name synonymous with academic excellence, discipline, and service to society.

A Contemporary and Global Outlook

Today, the Badruka Educational Society serves over 4,500 students, offering programs across multiple disciplines. The latest initiative, the Badruka School of Management (BSM), was launched to align education with the needs of a rapidly changing global economy.

“With BSM, we are not merely chasing trends—we are helping define them. We want our students to emerge as leaders with purpose, innovation, and integrity,” affirmed Shrii Badruka.

The AICTE-approved PGDM program at BSM aims to integrate traditional academic values with cutting-edge industry insights. The institution recently celebrated a record placement package of 18.22 lakh per annum, a reflection of the program’s growing reputation and corporate engagement.

A Legacy Carried Worldwide

From humble beginnings, the Badruka alumni network now spans over 100 countries, with former students occupying leadership positions in MNCs, government bodies, start-ups, and NGOs.

“Wherever they are in the world, our alumni carry with them a culture of ethics, excellence, and empathy—this is our true measure of success,” remarked Shrii Badruka.

A Moment of Reflection and Renewal

The 75-year celebrations were graced by Dr. B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, Founder Chairman of Cyient, who delivered the keynote address. The event brought together faculty, alumni, students, and well-wishers to honour the past and reaffirm a commitment to the future.

“We are deeply grateful to all those who walked this path with us—our principals, directors, faculty, staff, and students. Their dedication is the bedrock of our achievements,” said Shri Badruka.

In closing his speech, he emphasized the Society’s continued mission:

“We stand today not just to celebrate the past but to embrace the future—with humility, determination, and a renewed pledge to serve. We will continue to groom responsible citizens and contribute meaningfully to the progress of our society and our nation.”

As it steps into the next chapter, the Badruka Group reaffirms its place not just as an academic institution but as a movement of values-driven education with a global footprint.
