Hyderabad: Celebrated Assamese actor and producer Ms. Sulakhyana Baruah was honoured at the Telangana–Assam–North East Connect film celebrations for her acclaimed film Rador Pakhi (Morning Sunshine), where she played the lead role while also serving as one of the producers.

The film, directed by noted filmmaker Dr. Bobby Sarma Baruah, has been widely appreciated for its sensitive storytelling and powerful performances. At the event, Ms. Baruah’s contribution to regional cinema, both in front of and behind the camera, received special recognition.

Reflecting on the moment, Ms. Baruah shared her gratitude: “I was felicitated for my film Rador Pakhi. I played the protagonist as well as one of the producers. It was an amazing experience to be present here at the Telangana–North East Connect.”
She thanked the Government of Telangana and Hon’ble Governor Jishnu Dev Varma for creating a platform that celebrates North-Eastern films and filmmakers.
“My sincere gratitude to the Government of Telangana and to the Honourable Governor Sir for organising this event and giving this platform to filmmakers from the North-East to showcase their work. It was truly an enriching experience.”
Her presence added to the spirit of creative exchange at the festival, which celebrated cinematic talent from across Assam and the wider North-East, while fostering new collaborations with Telangana’s film industry.
