The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a fresh administrative reshuffle, assigning new responsibilities to 11 IAS officers across several key departments. The orders issued on October 12 include new postings and arrangements for officers to hold additional charge of certain positions.
Among the prominent appointments is Amrapali Kata, a 2010 batch IAS officer, who has been named Secretary to the Government for Tourism and Culture. The changes also cover departments handling tribal welfare, industries, youth services, social welfare education and civil supplies.
Amrapali Kata Takes Charge of Tourism and Culture
Amrapali Kata returns to a familiar area of administration, having previously served as Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation. Her new role involves coordinating government policy and administration in the tourism and culture portfolio.
The assignment comes as Andhra Pradesh seeks to develop its tourism destinations, strengthen visitor infrastructure and promote its cultural heritage. She will report to Special Chief Secretary Shamsher Singh Rawat.

Saurabh Gaur, a 2002 batch IAS officer, has been appointed Officer on Special Duty at Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi. The state government’s establishment in the national capital supports coordination with central ministries and institutions.

Additional Responsibilities Assigned
Dr. K. Srinivasulu, who serves as Director of Horticulture and Sericulture, has been given full additional charge as Director of Agricultural Marketing. Shubham Bansal, Director of Industries, will also hold the responsibility of Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh State Finance Corporation.
Why the Changes Matter
The reshuffle touches departments responsible for public services, economic development and welfare programmes. While changes in postings are a regular feature of administration, the new assignments clarify responsibility in several offices and may help departments coordinate their ongoing work.
The latest orders place officers in roles covering tourism promotion, welfare delivery, industrial administration and other state priorities.
