ADRE 2.0 Recruitment

Guwahati : In a celebratory and well-attended ceremony, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on January 9 handed over appointment letters to 4,374 successful candidates of the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) 2.0 Grade IV – marking the completion of the crucial recruitment process for these positions.

The event – held at a packed auditorium with an estimated 5,000 attendees including families and well-wishers – was a moment of pride and relief for the new government appointees and their supporters. Thousands gathered to witness what many described as an “unforgettable milestone” in their professional journeys.

A Transparent and Timely Recruitment Process

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Sarma highlighted that the ADRE recruitment cycle was completed within one year, and emphasised that the entire selection process was conducted in a transparent and corruption-free manner – a point he reiterated in his social media post.

In his remarks, Sarma stated: “Another day, another promise fulfilled! 4,374 candidates today got their appointment letters under ADRE Grade IV. The entire process has been completed within one year and with ZERO corruption.”

He congratulated all the successful candidates and encouraged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity in their government service, reinforcing that merit and fairness would continue to be the defining features of the state’s recruitment systems.

The Need for Centralised Recruitment

During his speech, the Chief Minister also reflected on the challenges of the past, when recruitment exams were conducted separately by each department, requiring candidates to submit multiple applications, pay separate fees, and navigate conflicting schedules. He explained that the ADRE system -a centralised recruitment model was introduced to eliminate these inefficiencies and reduce opportunities for malpractice.

A Broader Commitment to Youth Employment

The distribution of appointment letters comes as part of the Assam government’s ongoing drive to expand employment opportunities for the state’s youth. Earlier announcements had laid out a schedule for ADRE appointment letter distribution across multiple dates – with Grade IV letters being issued on January 9 and Grade III letters scheduled for later ceremonies.

This large-scale recruitment effort forms a key part of the government’s broader promise to deliver transparent governance and create thousands of jobs across various sectors – including education, health, police, and administrative services.

For the newly appointed Grade IV employees, the event was more than just an official formality – it was the beginning of a new chapter in their lives and careers. With family members cheering from the audience and many candidates capturing the moment on their phones, the day resonated with excitement, relief, and optimism for the future.
