Hyderabad: In a significant step towards strengthening industry-academia collaboration and boosting youth employability, Subba Rao VLVSS, Vice Chancellor of Young India Skills University (YISU), and Girish Menon, Chief Human Resources Officer of Swiggy Ltd, formalised a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at creating over 5,000 career opportunities in the fast-growing quick commerce sector across Telangana.
The partnership is designed to align YISU’s skill-based education model with Swiggy’s large-scale workforce requirements, particularly in operations, logistics, supply chain, customer experience, and last-mile delivery. Through this collaboration, students and youth enrolled with YISU will receive industry-aligned training, practical exposure, and structured pathways to employment within Swiggy’s quick commerce ecosystem.
Speaking on the occasion, Subba Rao VLVSS said the MoU reflects YISU’s mission to make young people “job-ready from day one” by embedding real-world industry needs into academic and skill-development frameworks. “Quick commerce is emerging as a major employment generator, and this partnership ensures Telangana’s youth are equipped with relevant, future-facing skills,” he noted.

The MoU also envisages joint initiatives such as curriculum co-creation, short-term certification programmes, on-the-job training, internships, and continuous upskilling modules, ensuring that beneficiaries remain competitive in a dynamic digital economy.
This collaboration marks another milestone in Telangana’s efforts to position itself as a skill and employment hub, leveraging partnerships between progressive educational institutions and leading industry players to drive sustainable livelihoods for the state’s youth.
