Dimapur, November 2025: In a major boost to digital skilling and technological empowerment in India’s North-East, the Cyient Foundation, the CSR arm of Cyient, in collaboration with SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation, has launched the AI & Future Skills Center of Excellence (CoE) at the Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre (NTTC), Dimapur.
The CoE was inaugurated by Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon’ble Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, in the presence of Y. Patton, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, and Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder Chairman, Cyient Limited. The initiative marks a significant step in India’s mission to democratize access to emerging technologies and promote inclusive, region-driven growth.
A Strategic Push for Digital Inclusion in the North-East
As the Program Management and Implementation Partner, Cyient Foundation conceptualized, designed, and executed the Center of Excellence with the objective of accelerating AI-driven skilling and employability. The Centre will offer domain-specific training in:
- AI-integrated Handloom & Handicrafts
- AI, Software Coding & Robotics
- Entrepreneurship and digital-first livelihoods
The curriculum aims to bridge employability gaps, expand entrepreneurial opportunities, and build a digitally skilled youth workforce across the North-East.
SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation: Enabling Infrastructure for Impact
Through a CSR partnership, SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation has provided funding support to set up advanced infrastructure at NTTC, including AI simulation labs, digital classrooms, and future-ready training facilities.

High-Impact Skilling Model
The Center is expected to train 200–240 youth annually, with 75% of trainees projected to secure employment or become self-employed within three months of completing the program. The CoE’s long-term model includes faculty development, AI-based curriculum integration, industry-market linkages, and ongoing mentoring support.

The initiative aligns with key national programs—Digital India, Skill India, and Viksit Bharat 2047—while strengthening regional economic resilience and promoting technology-led growth in the North-East.
