IndiGlobal Bureau: In what can be a significant step towards the wider reach and accessibility of the ancient Bharatiya Knowledge System into the mainstream education system, the Union Ministry of Education (MoE) entered into a pact with TTD-run Sri Venkateswara Vedic University (SVVU) recently.
This significant MoU between MoE and SVVU is aimed at creating and developing content on the Indian Knowledge System (IKS).
G. Suryanarayana Murthy, national coordinator of IKS, MoE, and Rani Sadasiva Murty, VC, SVVU exchanged the MoU copies in this connection on Friday.
As part of the MoU content of the IKS will be produced through writeups, articles, and translations of ancient Vedic texts into as many languages as possible. It will also focus on digitizing manuscripts, descriptive cataloguing, editing, and publishing texts of social relevance from ancient lore with scientific content.
Mr. Sadasiva Murthy observed that this collaboration will also facilitate several knowledge exchange programs including workshops, seminars, conferences, and ‘Sastrartha Goshtis’ on Vedic sources of IKS.
Further, developing digital content through audio-visual records of Vedic chanting and various rituals, to preserve traditional voices digitally will be part of the pact.
