AB-PMJAY completes more than 2 crore hospital admissions

Prime Minister’s ambitious Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojna (AB-PMJAY) to provide quality and affordable healthcare to the poor and underprivileged people has completed over 2 crores hospital admissions and treatments worth approx. 25,000 crores.

Ayushman Bharat scheme has enabled cashless and paperless healthcare benefits of up to 5 Lakhs annually to eligible families. Through this the underprivileged sections can afford treatment of their ailments without being at mercy of moneylenders.

The government has also launched Adhikar Patra and Abhinandan Patra to make Ayushman Bharat scheme successful. Adhikar Patra is meant to make people aware of their rights. This is issued to the beneficiaries during their hospital admissions for treatment under PM-JAY scheme so that they can claim free and cashless healthcare services of up to 5 lakhs. Abhinandan Patra signifies a ‘thank you note’ that is issued to the beneficiaries at the time of discharge from hospital after the treatment under PM-JAY scheme. Abhinandan Patra also contains a feedback form to be filled in by the beneficiaries so that they can give their views on the services received under the scheme.
