Zoom announces Focus Mode for students

To facilitate distraction-free virtual learning, video conferencing platform Zoom has come up with “Focus Mode” to help students increase their attention span while attending online classes. This mode allows teachers to watch their pupils’ videos as well as students to watch their teachers without seeing the videos of other participants during the class.

Zoom recommends designating a quiet space for schoolwork which is very helpful for a child to get into the right mindset when studying at home. It also recommends
clearing off a shelf or providing a box

or bin to the child where he/she can store school stuff out of sight until the next day. This not only reduces clutter but also allows the child to move away from the classroom when the day ends so that there is clear demarcation between home and school.

The video conferencing platform has also released a new Zoom for Chrome progressive web application (PWA). This improves the Zoom experience for Chromebook users, providing them higher number of Zoom features on Chrome OS devices. PWA can be installed on Chrome OS from Google Play store.
