PM Gati Shakti – a national master plan of connectivity to be unveiled on Oct 13

Prime Minister will be unveiling the mega PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan on 13th October. This is a major governance tool that top government officials are referring as “transformative”. This tool is all set to bring 16 central government departments together for planning of all infrastructure connectivity projects till 2025.Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-Informatics under the Ministry of Information Technology (MeITY) has together prepared the geo-spatial digital platform for multi-modal connectivity with 200 layers of GIS mapping of the entire country, as part of the national master plan.
State governments would be joining the platform as partners for holistic planning of all infrastructure and connectivity projects. The Gati Shakti plan was announced by PM in his Independence Day speech this year. Sixteen central government departments, including Roads, Railways, Highways, Gas, Petroleum, Power, Telecom, Shipping, Aviation are part of this plan.
