P M Narendra Modi Flags off Vande Bharat Express

In can be termed as a bonanza for Railway network, South Central Railway and rail users of Telangana. On Saturday, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, flagged off Vande Bharat Express between Secunderabad – Tirupati from Secunderabad Railway station. Subsequently, he launched several important Rail developmental projects in Telangana State including laying of foundation stone for redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway station, Dedication of Doubling and Electrification of Secunderabad – Mahabubnagar section to the Nation and Flagged off 13 New MMTS services in the suburban section of Hyderabad – Secunderabad twin city region at a function held in Parade Grounds, Secunderabad.

Dr. Tamilisai Soundarajan, Governor, Telangana State; Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, Govt. of India; G. Kishan Reddy, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Development, North Eastern Region, Govt of India and T. Srinivas Yadav, Minister, Govt. of Telangana (present at Secunderabad station) also graced the occasion. Anil Kumar Lahoti, Chairman and CEO, Railway Board; Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway and other senior Railway officials were also present. At Secunderabad station, prior to flagging off the Vande Bharat Express, Narendra Modi carried out a brief inspection of the train and interacted with school students and crew members (loco pilot) of the inaugural special.

Addressing the gathering at Parade Grounds, P M Narendra Modi stated that it is a blessed day for the people of Telangana as a new chapter unfolds in the Rail developmental plans of the State. He said that the new Vande Bharat train service which was flagged off from Secunderabad to Tirupati links the historic city of Bhagyanagar with the abode of Lord Sri Venkateswara in Tirupati. India’s symbol of pride on rail tracks, the Vande Bharat is connecting technology and tourism across the Nation, he said. Further, the Prime Minister stated that the central Government is moving forward with the motto of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayaas’ and is striving hard towards fulfilling the dreams of the people of Telangana State.

The Prime Minister stated that the NDA Government was committed towards all round development of Telangana State. He mentioned that in the past nine years, the Railway budget for Telangana State has been increased by almost 70%, which has led to the completion of several new lines, doubling, tripling and electrification of Rail routes across the state. He stated that the commissioning of doubling and electrification of Secunderabad – Mahbubnagar line and launching of 13 new MMTS services in the Secunderabad, Bolarum, Medchal, Umdanagar section is a proof of this. He also mentioned that Secunderabad Railway station is being redeveloped with a cost of Rs. 720 crores under the station upgradation scheme of the central government.

G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister stated that the new Vande Bharat service between Secunderabad – Tirupati is a dream come true for every middle class family who have dreamed of receiving the blessings of Lord Venkateshwara. He informed that Secunderabad station which is the biggest station in Telangana State is being modernized with state of the art facilities and International standards which will serve the requirements of the public even upto the next 40 years. He also mentioned that with the support of the Prime Minister the Secunderabad – Mahbubnagar doubling and electrification project could be completed with a cost of Rs. 1410 crores.
